Day 21: Amsterdam - London
We had to wake up crazy early today and get our
bags on the trucks at 6:30am. Had breakfast, and realized that
I was being completely dumb about everything, and that I had
just wasted a perfectly good night with an amazing girl. Stace
likes me... I like her... so what's the problem? Heh, I guess
the answer to that would be Me. I just think too much!
I guess I really did blow things out of proportion,
cause things went back to the way there were, and everything
seemed fine after my realization. The ride back to London was
spent mostly sleeping, and remininscing. Everyone had the chance
to go up to the front of the coach and say a little something,
and it was all very depressing... Everyone signed everyone else's
book or photo, and we just spent the time talking about all
the wonderful things we've seen and experienced. Heh, good thing
Stacey's left handed, cause I don't think I let go of her right
hand the whole trip back (would have been hard writing in everyone's
book without a hand). Getting closer to Calais, Aaron finally
got up and made his little speech to us telling us how great
we were, and how he'd always remember us... heh, we all thought
he was obligated to say that, and that he said that to all of
his tour groups, but then he dropped the bombshell. We were
his first ever tour group. WE BUSTED
AARON'S CHERRY! And I think we did a hell of a job
too eh? Wonder if anyone will ever beat our mark for most hospital
trips on a trip :) Too bad none of us believed that it was his
first ever time leading a tour... but that's what you get for
lying to us throughout the whole trip! Aaron also announced
though, that due to the shortage of tour managers, he had to
leave us in Calais and join up with another group that was just
heading out. The hectic life of a tour manager... Getting into
Calais, Aaron said a quick bye and hopped off the bus... heh,
the other group better appreciate how great of a TM he is :)
Getting back on the ferry, it felt as if it were
just yesterday that we were starting on our grand adventure,
but yet, so much had happened in these short 20 days. Paris,
Florence, Rome, Venice.... they were all great, but they were
just bonuses. I found the girl of my dreams, and I FELL
IN LOVE! How could you ever beat that?
Arriving back in London, everyone got all teary-eyed
as the group started to split up and go int heir own directions.
A few of us decided to meet up at the pub once we got settled
into our rooms. Saying our goodbye's to everyone who were leaving,
we headed up to our room.
Stace had plans to stay in England for the rest
of the year, and a few nights earlier, I had asked her to stay
with me in London since I had a few nights there after the tour.
CJ and I were roomies one final time at the Royal National,
with us both staying 3 extra nights, but it turned out that he
wanted to head home early, and so he only ended up staying a
night in the room (funny how that worked out). Me and Stace
had the room to ourselves for a couple extra days :) In addition
to CJ, Stace and Me, there was also Janet and Judy who spent
the night in our room. CJ and them were all going to Gatwick
in the morning, so they all decided to just stay the night,
and take off together. Getting checked into our room, me and
Stace went back downstairs to the pub and met up with everyone
else, having our final farewell dinner together. Yummy fish
and chips, too bad they messed up our order. Saying goodbye
to everyone was really sad... but hey, we've got the reunion
to look forward to right? It's going to be soooo much fun meeting
up with everyone again! We walked Amy back to her hostel, and
said our farewells to everyone else, and we headed up to our
room at around midnight. The end was finally here...
Special notes: German Lollies
= ewwww, Stop smoking before smoking
stops you!, Watch out for weirdos when you try to use the red
phone booths in London...
